1. I am a candidate appeared in the written test held on 14.02.2010 against Employment Notice No.02/2009. Will I have to apply again?
Yes, all such candidates have to apply again.
   
2. I am a candidate appeared in the written test held on 14.02.2010 against Employment Notice No.02/2009. I have forgotten my earlier roll number.
The roll number of the written test held on 14.02.2010 can be accessed by answering the queries that are displayed on the pop up menu or the same can be got through our Help Desk by calling on phone Nos. 040-23183587/23184247.
   
3. I am a candidate appeared in the written test held on 14.02.2010 against Employment Notice No.02/2009. Will I have to pay the examination fee by way of Bank Challan?
No, such candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee.
   
4. I am a deceased employee’s dependent. Do I have to submit on-line application?
Yes, the dependent of deceased employee has to submit the on-line application by clicking the appropriate menu provided in the web site.
   
5. I am a deceased employee’s dependent. Do I have to pay the examination fee by way of Bank Challan?
Yes, the deceased employees’ dependents are required to pay examination fee by way of Bank challan. You are exempted from paying the examination fee if you are SC/ST/PH candidate.
   
6. I am an ex-serviceman and I have not been provided with subject/yearwise of marks. What should I enter in my application?
For ex-servicemen, filling of the details about marks is not mandatory.
   
7. I have appeared for NAC examination and the results are to be announced shortly. Can I fill the application?
Only those candidates whose result is declared and the marksheet is received are eligible to apply. Last date for applying on-line is 05.10.2013.
   
8. I am working in a Govt./Public Sector company. Should I enclose NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the written test?
Candidates presently employed in Central/State Govt. departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies should attach copy of NOC (if available) along with the Acknowledgement Slip. If not, they can produce the same when they attend the interview, if qualified.
   
9. I am an ITI+NCA holder meeting all requirements with respect to qualifications belonging to the General category. I am 27 years and 5 days old as on 01.09.2013. I don’t have any working experience. Am I eligible to apply?
The upper age limit of 27 years is prescribed as on 01.09.2013 and no deviation is allowed. Hence you are not eligible.
   
10. I am an ITI+NAC holder meeting all requirements with respect to qualifications belonging to the General category and I have served in a Power Generation/transmission company for a period of 4 years. Is there any relaxation for me in the upper age limit?
The upper age is relaxable up to 7 years, as on 01.09.2013 to candidates possessing working experience in a company engaged in manufacturing, assembly, testing and servicing of power plant equipment. The candidates who are engaged through the contractors directly in these operations would also be entitled to the age relaxation. This age relaxation will be available to candidates having aforesaid experience of at least 50 months of continuous or intermittent service for availing 7 years relaxation and on pro-rata basis for less than 7 year relaxation. Such candidates will, however, have to compete with other eligible candidates in the written test/ interview etc.
   
11. Should I enclose all my experience certificates with the Acknowledgement slip?
Yes, if you are seeking age relaxation under ‘experience’, certificate from the employer(s) stating clearly the period of service, PF Account number, the product manufactured in the company and nature of job done by the applicant, has to be attached along with the Acknowledgement slip.
   
12. I have secured Best Apprentice/Runner-up Apprentice (Gold/Silver) from regional competitions. Can I have advantage of this?
Only those candidates have advantage who secure best apprentice/runner-up apprentice from all India Apprentice competition conducted by the Directorate General/Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment.
   
13. I am SC/ST/OBC candidate but don’t have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a general candidate?
If you so desire and are within the age limit, you may apply as ‘general’ candidate (if eligible for General category) giving the category as “General”. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as “General” and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date.
   
14. Will any travelling allowance be paid to me for attending the written test/interview?
No travelling allowance is payable to the candidates for attending the written test. You will have to attend the written test at your own expense. Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed second sleeper train fare as per rules on production of tickets. However, at the time of interview if it is found that the candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, he will neither be allowed for the interview nor paid any travelling allowance.
   
15. Can I send a cheque or demand draft in lieu of the Challan along with the Acknowledgement Slip towards the examination fee?
No, Examination fee has to be paid through challan in to the ‘Power Jyoti Account No. 33300538192 in any of the branches of State Bank of India across the Country. Payment in any other mode will not be accepted.
   
16. Where will the written test/interviews be held?
The written test/interviews will be held in Hyderabad only.
   
17. Should I enclose PH certificate?
If you are applying against PH quota, you must attach a copy of the certificate issued by the medical board.
   
18.

I am staying near BHEL. Can I handover my Acknowledgement Slip and enclosures in person or put in some drop box?
No. All acknowledgement slips along with applicable enclosures should be sent through ordinary post only to the address given in the instructions.
